BusyBee's Review Key Concepts tool helps students revisit essential terms and definitions from the activity through a flashcard format, making it easier to independently study, recall, and apply knowledge. Not only does this help students succeed in the moment, it models practical study strategies that they can continue to use throughout their learning journey.

Students build memory and study strategies with Review Key Concepts

When the Review Key Concepts tool is available for an activity type, a button appears below the activity's content. Using Review Key Concepts does not impact your grade. It is there to reinforce your learning.

  1. Click the button to start.
  1. BusyBee generates generates flashcards with terms and definitions drawn from the activity's content.
  2. Click the card to see the term's definition.
  3. Click the next and back buttons to see the other terms.
  4. Click Close at any time to return to the activity.

Students strengthen memory and build study strategies with Review Key Concepts:

  • Review frequently: Revisit the flashcards frequently to strengthen memory retention.
  • Learn with classmates: Use the flashcards with a classmate to quiz each other.
  • Track your progress: Use the tool regularly to gauge improvement over time.

  • Ensure alignment: Preview the activity and verify that the terms generated by the tool accurately reflect the critical concepts for the activity.

Review Key Concepts is supported by the following Activity types

  • These activity types can use Review Key Concepts only when they are not gradable:
    • Assignments
    • Custom Activity
    • Embedded code
    • File attachment
    • Google Drive documents
    • Website links
    • Rich-text activity
    • YouTube videos
  • Assessment templates can use Review Key Concepts whether they are gradable or not.

To generate flashcards, Review Key Concepts requires text-based activity content. This is particularly important to remember with media content like YouTube videos or file attachments that are images.
