BusyBee's Check My Understanding tool enables students to assess their knowledge through interactive, non-graded quizzes based on an activity's content. The practice questions provide instant feedback that reinforces student learning.

Students reinforce learning independently with Check My Understanding
When the Check My Understanding tool is available for an activity type, it appears in the BusyBee AI study tools menu.
Answering Check My Understanding questions does not impact your grade. They are there only to reinforce your learning.
- Click the sparkle icon in the toolbar to open BusyBee AI Study Tools.
- Select Check My Understanding.
- BusyBee generates a question for you to answer.
- When you've answered the question, click Check answer to see how you did.
- BusyBee shows the right answer and gives immediate feedback based on your answer.
- Click Try another question if you want to keep answering questions (10 total).
- Click the back arrow at any time return to the other Study Tools.
Students can reinforce learning and assess their progress with Check My Understanding:
- Review immediate feedback: Read the feedback closely to better understand the content and whether there are concepts you've misunderstood or should study closer.
- Track your progress: Use the tool regularly to solidify the concepts and gauge improvement over time.
Parents, teachers, and other observers can support learning with Check My Understanding:
- Preview questions for accuracy: Use the tool when previewing activities to ensure questions align with the learning objectives.
- Encourage consistent practice: Motivate students to use the tool to reinforce concepts and promote independent learning.
- Collaborative learning: Use Check My Understanding together, so you can get a sense of how the student is doing and where they might need help.
Which activity types does Check My Understanding work with?
Check My Understanding can be enabled for the following Activity types:
- Assessments
- Assignments

Custom activities that use the following source content:
- Rich text
- Course resources
- External website URLs (e.g., YouTube videos, LTI activities)
- Note: BusyBee does not access content from external websites. In order for the tools to work properly with them, you must add a Description and/or Objectives to the activity.
To generate responses, Check My Understanding require at least 50 words of total, relevant content to be present between the following items in an activity:
- The activity's Content field
- Learning objectives aligned with the activity
- The activity's Description field
- Assessment questions in assessments
Check My Understanding requires text-based activity content. This is particularly important to remember with media content like YouTube videos or file attachments that are images.
