Once a catalog entry is added, authors and admins can use Dawn's authoring tool to create and manage each catalog entry's settings and content.
Start by opening the Editor or jump back into Recently edited entries.
In the Editor, you have all the tools you need to build structured learning paths, add instructional content and activities, and configure how learners progress through a catalog entry.
- Click Preview in the toolbar to view the catalog entry as a learner.
- Use the More menu to:
- Duplicate the catalog entry
- Copy to another website
- Delete the catalog entry
Dawn's authoring tools help you design, organize, and manage the learning experiences in your catalog entries.
Settings tools
With the Settings tools, configure the core properties of a catalog entry, including its title, authors, coaches, and other options that control how the learning experience appears and behaves for learners.
Toggle the Published switch to publish and unpublish your catalog entry. Published entries are visible for enrollment in your Catalog and unpublished entries aren't.
You also create and manage the following settings.
- Title your catalog entry and provide a Cover poster to represent it in the Catalog and elsewhere. To select a Cover poster image (PNG or JPG), upload it to Resource library.
- Manage Assigned authors and Assigned coaches.
- If you enable Template for new catalog entries, you and other authors can select this catalog entry as a template when creating new entries.
- Under Launch page, you can specify the page you learners to see first:
- Last viewed content (If selected in an entry without content, the player shows what is available from Coaching, Newsletter or Learner materials, in that order)
- Coaching screen
- Group screen
- Newsletter
- Learner materials
- Set Review trigger to specify when learners are prompted to review the catalog entry: At the end of the content, Throughout the content (3 times), Never.
- To make the catalog entry available in multiple languages, select them in the Available languages dropdown. Then select the Default language.
Catalog tools
With the Catalog tools, configure how the catalog entry appears and functions in the site catalog.
Mastery tools
With the Mastery tools:
- Indicate the percentage of Mastery award points learners need to earn for course completion.
- Course completion progress is shown to learners as a percentage. If you choose 85% as the required number of Mastery award points needed to complete the course, learners will see 100% course completion once they've earned 85% of the possible Mastery award.
- Indicate whether you want to Issue a certificate at course completion.
Note: Because Mastery awards are necessary to award certificates, if a catalog entry has no Mastery awards set up, the Mastery threshold field and Certificate card do not appear.

Resource library tools
With the Resource library tools, you can review, manage, and download all resource files attached to the entry.
Materials tools
Materials are Attachments or Websites that you make available to learners. You can store them in the catalog entry's Materials for learners to review or attach them to specific Instructions.
With the Materials tools, you can add and manage this content.
Newsletter tools
With the Newsletter tools, you can set up communication with your users! Newsletters are sent as emails to all enrollees, and are also accessible in their Newsletter screen.
Edit history
In Edit history, you can review changes made to a catalog entry.
