Buzz Release Notes

A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform, version 3.0.499 available on February 12, 2026.

Enhanced "Needs grading" insights

Formerly labeled Responsiveness and represented only by a color indicator, this feature has been expanded and renamed Needs grading to more clearly reflect what it measures.

Needs Grading insights provide clear, real-time visibility into grading workload and turnaround, now surfaced directly in two key places:

Admin App → Domain Teacher Summary

Administrators can see a list of teachers in the domain with:

  • Total submissions that need grading
  • Submissions approaching the grading deadline
  • Submissions past the grading deadline

Each teacher row also includes a status signal (green, yellow, or red) that reflects the teacher’s overall responsiveness across their courses. This signal represents an aggregate view of “needs grading” activity, helping administrators quickly understand whether grading backlogs are isolated or indicate a broader concern.

Teacher App → Teacher Dashboard

Teacher App → Teacher Dashboard

Teachers see their own courses listed with the same metrics, making it easy to understand grading status at a glance.

Each course includes a status signal that reflects grading needs for that specific course. Courses with any submissions beyond the thresholds are clearly highlighted so teachers can quickly spot where immediate attention is required.

Formerly referred to as Responsiveness, the updated Needs Grading metric more clearly communicates what it measures: where student work is waiting for review and where attention may be required.

Key benefits from Needs Grading insights

  • Clear, intuitive metrics: Needs grading insights make it immediately obvious where work is pending.
  • At-a-glance awareness for admins: Quickly identify which teachers may need support or follow-up.
  • Actionable dashboards for teachers: See grading priorities across courses without digging.
  • Proactive intervention: Spot submissions nearing or past deadlines before they affect students.
  • Reduced manual oversight: Eliminate the need to investigate individual courses one by one.
  • Improved consistency: Encourage reliable grading timelines across programs and schools.

Administrators and program leaders gain centralized visibility into grading backlog and risk across the domain.Teachers get clear, course-level insight into what needs attention next. Students benefit from faster, more predictable feedback that keeps learning on track.
