The Student Grades screen gives teachers and administrators a view of a student's progress in the format that students see it.
Teachers can access it by clicking on a student in:
Administrators can access by clicking on a student's Course enrollment from Users > [Student] User ID > Performance.
The Student Grades screen can show up to ten tabs, where users with appropriate permissions can:
- View activity Grades, use the Grades tools in the toolbar, and click an activity to grade it with the Grade editor
- View the student's Dashboard which includes:
- Review personalized For me tasks.
- Use the What if tool to explore grade possibilities for the student.
- Review the student's recent Activity in the course.
- Review Objective mastery.
- Review the student's Inbox. You can delete any message from this screen and edit your own sent messages.
- Note: The Inbox appears only for domains with Inbox enabled.
- Review the student's Stream.
- Review the student's To-do list.
- Review each activity's Score and Status for the student and Quick edit scores.

Score and Status columns
The Score column shows the score currently associated with each activity for the student, whether it's been returned to the student or not. The Status column includes icons that show the status of the score, such as whether it needs to be graded, has feedback, or is still in progress.
- Needs grading (document icon): This icon appears when the student has submitted work, and it is ready for the teacher to grade.
- Completed (checkmark): A checkmark indicates that the student has completed the activity.
- Has message (speech bubble icon): This icon shows that the teacher has left a feedback message for the student. If Inbox is enabled, it can also indicate that the student has sent the teacher a message about the activity.
- Allow retry (circular arrow icon): This means the student has been allowed to retry the activity.
-
Saved draft (bookmark icon): This icon appears when a score has been entered, but hasn't been returned to the student. The displayed score is pending and is not visible to the student until it is released.
- Teachers can release scores using Quick edit, the Grade editor, or the Activity grader.
- Saved scores can also be automatically released by a Score release date.
- Missing (clipboard exclamation icon): This means the student's activity submission is missing.
- Excused (X): An X appears when the student has been excused from the activity. The student does not need to complete it, and it does not affect their final grade.
If you use BusyBee's Grading Assistant, you will see BusyBee indicators which appear only with scores that have not been returned to students.
