Buzz Release Notes
A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform, version 2026.1009.193720 available on October 9, 2026.
Buzz fixes
In this release, we:
- Fixed an issue where the Close activity for student? dialog appeared even after the grader changed a student's automatically assigned Minimum activity score. The dialog now appears only under the conditions described below.
When graders see the "Close activity for student?" dialog
The Close activity for student? dialog added in the October 8, 2026 release was intended for teachers to avoid accidentally closing an activity's grace period for a student.
When a student misses a due date, Buzz can automatically assign the course's Minimum activity score while the student can still turn in late work. If a grader writes the student a message and clicks Submit, Buzz accepts the minimum score as the grade and the student can no longer submit. The dialog asks the grader to confirm before that happens.
The dialog should appear only when all of the following are true:
- The student received the automatic Minimum activity score, and the grader hasn't changed it.
- The grader entered a message to the student.
- The activity still allows the student to submit late (the grace period hasn't ended).
