Note for teachers and administrators: BusyBee Chats are a Buzz Add-on

If you are interested in trying BusyBee Chats, reach out to your account manager or school administrator.

BusyBee Chats are interactive activities where you explore topics, solve problems, and build skills by chatting with AI. Each conversation is safe, personalized, and designed to support your learning, whether you're writing, debating, or practicing a new language.

Teachers can review your chats and you can ask the activity for instant evaluations to help you improve.

You can open a chat by clicking on it, like any other activity in your course.

How to play a BusyBee Chat

You can open a chat by clicking on it, like any other activity in your course.

  1. In some chat activities, the conversation will begin immediately with a message from BusyBee or a character assigned by your teacher.
  2. If your teacher has provided instructions, they appear above the chat window.
  3. Enter and send messages to continue the conversation. If your teacher allows it, you can even attach files.

You can click Evaluate at any time to get an overview of how you are performing on the activity.

You can click Reset at any time to restart the conversation, but keep in mind that you won't be able to continue the conversation you reset.

You can review your past conversations by choosing them from the Selected chat dropdown.

Choose a character to chat with

In some chats, your teacher may provide characters that you can choose to chat with. In these chats, you are prompted to select your character before the conversation starts.

Chats are automatically monitored for safety

To help keep you safe, BusyBee Chats monitor for inappropriate or unsafe content and will block your conversation and notify your teacher if it is detected.

If your conversation is blocked because of inappropriate content:

  1. A popup appears to tell you that the chat has been blocked, why it was blocked, and what you can do.
  1. When you close the popup, a status message remains at the top of the chat stating the reason for the block.
  2. You can click Dispute if you think it was ended in error and if your teacher agrees, they will unblock it, so you can continue later.
  3. You can Reset blocked chats if you want to start over entirely.
