Domain Assessment Password

This article discusses domain settings, including the domain assessment password: https://support.agilix.com/hc/en-us/articles/207885903-how-do-i-use-the-domain-tool Just to clarify ... does this password apply to COURSES within the domain that contain assessments with passwords, or to USERS within a domain who are trying to take assessments with passwords? Our summer school courses will all be housed within one domain, but we will have students taking those courses whose accounts live in several different domains. I'm hoping that I can apply a single assessment password to the domain where the courses live and have all students (no matter what their domain) use that password on their assessments. (I know it doesn't sound like it makes sense to give students the domain password, but this is a unique and temporary situation for the summer.)

We'll update the documentation to reflect this, but the password applies to the domain where the enrollments exist. In theory, a user, course, and enrollment could exist in different domains. However, if creating the enrollments through the Buzz UI, the enrollments will exist on the same domain as the course. If using the API, you can choose where the enrollments should be created.

Does that make sense? If you would like us to further troubleshoot your specific setup, we would likely need to do so through a ticket to pass some information.

Thanks for the quick response, Brad. Yes, that makes sense. We do use the API to set up the enrollments. Usually when I have done that, I have NOT specified a domain for the enrollment itself, and that seems to make the enrollment end up in the same domain of the course (like it would if the enrollment was created in the UI). Can you confirm that's the case?

I also ran listenrollments&domainid=0&coursedomainid=XXXXXX, and the domainid for all of the enrollments it listed (almost 2,000) was the same as the coursedomainid. So I think we should be good, but you confirming it would make me feel even better!

Thanks,

Shaun

Yes, if you do not specify the domain ID when creating the enrollment, it will default to the same domain as the course the enrollment is being created in.
