The activity time reported on the Grades tab and the Activity tabs is always different. What is the difference between how activity time is calculated on these two screens?
Thanks!
The difference between the two views is that we are using different processes to record. For example the student activity screen takes into account if the student has multiple browser tabs open in Buzz at the same time. If it didn't do that the time would be inflated.
In the grade editor it will show an inflated time for multiple browser tabs open. In the student activity screen it will display less time taking into account for the extra browser tabs open in Buzz.
Brian Williams Is there value in seeing the inflated time or is this something Agilix can fix so it matches? It causes a lot of confusion between student and admin/teachers. Thank you!
Brian Williams Hi, Brian. Back in December, Agilix released an update that "updated student time tracking to better record time spent in an activity when the student closes the tab or navigates to a different site during the session." I took that to mean that the two tabs now calculated activity time in the same way, but they still don't match. What exactly did this update do? Thanks in advance!
Melissa Myers, It appears that update is in reference to how time is recorded when using Publish Anywhere with iframe events.
Tabatha Kilgore, Yes we provide flexibility for users that only need to account for a student's overall time spent and don't need to factor in if a student was viewing Buzz activities across multiple browser tabs.

Thanks for your quick response... Does that mean that if a user has Buzz open in two different tabs, it counts their activity time double?
