What-if Calculator unexpected behavior

I had the "restrict score visibility by date" set for my final exam. I didn't want any grades released until all students had taken the exam. One of my students complained that no matter what score he typed in the what-if calculator for his exam the overall score didn't change. I tried it myself on his computer to confirm the behavior.

Because the score was restricted, the what-if calculator was disabled for that item. I''m guessing this behavior is unintentional. It would be helpful for students if you could find a way to keep the functionality of the what-if calculator whether the actual score was restricted or not.

Thank you. :)

Hey Bruce, that behavior does not sound ordinary. Could you have your authorized support contact submit a ticket with us?

This behavior is still occurring. I have one more related point to add.

I gave my students a quiz and restricted the score by date. This time I also (inadvertently) checked treat as zero in the gradebook until the item is scored. Buzz put a black zero in for their score, even though their score should have been restricted. One of my students then showed me that when he went to the what-if calculator and entered 100% in place of the 0% and clicked recalculate his grade didn't change.

So it seems to me that there are 2 issues here:

1) If I had their grade restricted why did Buzz show a 0? (By the way, it wasn't really unscored. They DID have a score. I could see it in my gradebook, but Buzz treated it as unscored and showed a 0). I would have expected their score to stay blank.

2) If Buzz is going to show students a place for a grade whether it has a 0 or is blank, I (and students) would expect to be able to enter a score for that item in the what-if calculator.

Hello Bruce!

I am unaware that a ticket was submitted to Agilix Support regarding this reported behavior? Could you submit a ticket so that we can address this for your organization?

Ok, thanks Brian. When I originally posted last January, it was the end of the semester. I probably just forgot with all of the grades I had due.
