Maryanne asks:
When I am in the grade book and I try to use the arrow to scroll down or up, it just keeps running through the same set of five students on the screen.
Are we doing something wrong or missing something obvious?
Thanks,
Jeremy

jmw: I don't think this is exactly the same issue that Maryanne is asking about, but they might be related.
If you have suggestions, please let us know. If this behavior is intentional, please consider this a feature request to have the grade screen function more a traditional spreadsheet.
Thanks,
Jeremy
Jeremy, I don't know how we overlooked this question. Sorry for that.
I am not experiencing the same issue. When I scroll, the selection goes exactly as expected. Do you know if this is still happening? And if so, could you prove the details so I can attempt to reproduce it.
Video showing correct behavior.
Thanks, Brad.
Maryanne says:
Not right now. Maybe it has righted itself. If it happens again, I will video it.
jmw: I'm checking with Ryan too.
However, your video didn't show you using the arrow to access students who were not currently visible. Does your screen scroll down as you arrow down in the cells?
Thanks,
Jeremy
Yes, my screen scrolls down when I move to a cell (with the arrow keys) that is not in view. After a arrow navigation to a full cell that is not on the screen, it should jump to bring the row (or column if scrolling horizontally) to the center of the screen.
Thanks for confirming that, Brad. I'll let you know when I hear back from Ryan, but I'm guessing that whatever this was is now fixed or was a temporary hiccup.
Ryan says:
I am still experiencing the same issue. In the video provided, the arrows move as expected, which they do for me as well, but the user in the video never attempted to arrow up higher than the current screenshot shows. Had he tried to arrow up to a user above Brad Marshall, I don’t think he would’ve been able to get there.
He adds:
To be clear, I can arrow down fine. I just can’t arrow up off screen.
Maryanne reports:
Hi: Here is the evidence of the problem. When I click on the down arrow: This is the effect: Please see video. [I'll send this off-line.] It scrolls through the same names repeatedly. And, this does not happen all the time.
Okay, she is referring to the "arrow" of the scrollbar, not the arrow keys of the keyboard. I also notice that she is using Mozilla Firefox and has "scrollbars" enabled for her OS.
I have enabled scrollbars, but I still am not able to reproduce the issue in Firefox. Are you able to reproduce it or have any further insight?
I had asked her for more info and have put her answers in bold:
Does it always happen on the same device and using the same browser?
Yes
What device and what browser are you using when it does happen?
Browser is Firefox, the computer is school issue Dell.
Is there a pattern for when it is happening?
[Kelly] Loving has mentioned he has had the same experience. No pattern.
Does it happen at home and at school or only one of those locations?
Here. I have not noticed it happening at home.
