Observed users vs. observed enrollments

What is the difference between observed users vs. observed enrollments?

Currently, we create observed enrollments for our parents for each of the enrollments of each of their children.  With the observed user option could we instead just establish the parent as the observed user for each of their children?

Does that change the way anything looks to the observer?

I looked through the documentation and found explanation of how to manage each and create them, etc, but nothing that explained the fundamental difference between the two approaches.

Thanks for helping to clarify.

Observed users is how you explained. If you are observing a user, you observe each of their enrollments indefinitely (this term, next term, etc.). This is great use-case for a parent that will always be the student's parent. You may want to use observed enrollment if it is a counselor that is only temporarily providing assistance to the student for a limited time period.

To the observer, their user experience is the same either way. The main difference is that you don't need to add them as an observer next term to the student's new enrollments.
