I have multiple assignments throughout my course that are all based on the same rubric and have the same splash screen and instructions, so I built a default version of this assignment and then copied it to make all of the other assignments. On the splash screen of this assignment is an image used for the banner of the assignment. I placed the original image in a folder named images in my Teacher Resources area and linked to that image on the original assignment just fine. However, each time I copied the assignment in Buzz, it created a randomly named folder that holds an new copy of the banner image (seen when I am in the course using BrainHoney). This quickly and needlessly fills up the Teacher Resources area will folders and files that do not need to be there. Why doesn't the new copy just link to the same image as the original linked to? (See third and fourth folders in image below>)

Note: I do not have this problem if I am copying in the same course using the BrainHoney interface rather than the Buzz interface.

Hello Mmoreno. Buzz does indeed handle it differently. In Buzz, we copy the item and each of its resources. This allows the author to have two distinct activities with no dependencies on another. For the copied resources, we create a new folder with a unguessable identifier so that the system does not copy over any already existing content. In your use-case, it appears to be problematic as you do not want the resources copied but just the activity settings and content.
Over the next while we are working on a improved authoring tool for course content. I have made note the need for templates so that people can create activities pointing to already existing resources, as well as other features.
In the meantime, you could open up the copied activity and repoint the image to the original image. That way, you can still update the single image and it will be updated wherever it is referenced.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Thanks.
Thanks Brad!
