Toggle between basic and advanced editor

Implemented feature idea or fixed bug
Jeremy Walker

The current protocol is that once you've switched an assessment to the advanced editor you can't go back to the basic editor.

It would be outstanding if you could instead toggle back and forth between the too.

It would also be nice if you could build parity between the two editors and instead of making it basic vs. advanced think of it as a graphical interface vs. a coding interface.

For example, processing images is much easier in the basic editor, but I have teachers who need to use composite questions so that the image only shows up once for a set of questions that need to stick together.  I've been having them do all of their image work and question writing in the basic editor and then switching over to the advanced editor.  It works, but it's not pretty nor really great from some typical users.

Thanks for considering these request.

This is definitely on our roadmap. Happy to hear you confirming our thoughts and plans.

I have had teachers switch to the advanced editor thinking that it had advanced editing options, but then seeing the interface have regretted it because the advanced editor has to deal with GUIs, not advanced options. Is there a way to clarify for users what the advanced editor is? This would help teachers to know if they wanted that coding editor versus the "normal" GUI. Thanks!
