How does Standards-based grading work?

  • Updated:

If your teacher uses Standards-based grading, it would be helpful to learn more about it: What is Standards-based Grading in Buzz?

When you open your Grades in a Standards-based grading course, you see:

  1. The course Standards listed along with the Description and overall Proficiency level for the Standard. Each standard panel is collapsable.
  2. Each activity that is aligned with a course Standard is listed below that Standard along with the Score achieved, the Weight applied to it, Status, Submitted date, and Due date.
  3. The rest of the Grades screens and tools behave the same as in a traditional course.

When reviewing grades for specific activities, you can hover over the proficiency level assigned to see the standard being assessed.
