Buzz Release Notes
A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform version v3.0.414, available on August 29, 2024.
Buzz Messages in Grade editor and Grade details
We have enhanced the way teachers can send feedback Messages to students from the Grade editor.
Teachers can still create a feeeback message while grading and it is automatically sent when they click Submit or the other submission action buttons.
But now, teachers can send a feedback message at any time without submitting a score, before or after grading. Just compose your message and click the dropdown button next to Submit to Send message now. The message is sent, and you can continue grading the activity.
The feedback message appears under Messages with a timestamp, and teachers can edit or delete it. Teachers can click the Read/unread status button to see if the student has seen the message (and those messages are now easier to find for students).

Insert feedback templates from the rich text editor
Teachers are still able to create and insert feedback Templates in the Grade editor.
Previously, feedback Templates were located under the feedback editor. They can now be accessed from a tool in the Messages rich text editor.

More discoverable feedback messages for students
When teachers send a feedback message, students are notified in their Activity stream with a link that takes them to Grade details, so they can read it while looking at the activity and scores.
Teacher feedback messages are now prominently displayed in Grade details, so students can easily find them.
With Inbox enabled, students are able to respond to messages from Grade details.
Buzz Inbox beta
As previewed, we are releasing the new Buzz Inbox as an optional beta feature enabled for a domain by administrators!
Prepare your school, teachers, and students before switching to Inbox
Enabling Inbox provides a lot of powerful communication features, but switching from external email to internal messaging might require training. Administrators should review Inbox documentation to ensure your school is ready.
Learn more: How do I enable and use the Inbox?
The Inbox is a beta feature and subject to change. Contact your Agilix account manager or Agilix support with questions.
Currently, there are no public APIs for Inbox. Contact Agilix support if you need API access.
The Inbox tools:
-
Streamline communication between students and teachers with an easy-to-use Inbox that doesn't rely on external email services.
- Teacher: How do I use my Inbox? (Teacher)
- Student: How do I use my Inbox? (Student)
- Enable two-way, contextualized interactions about student submissions with messaging tools built into the Grade editor for teachers and Grade details for students.
- Support student learning and simplify teacher workflows by allowing students to message teachers directly from activities and automatically providing direct links in those messages for teachers.
-
Improve parent and mentor involvement by giving them access to their student's messages.
- Observer: How do I view a student's Inbox?
-
Give administrators message moderating capabilities, allowing them to review all messages in Buzz and delete them when necessary.
- Administrator: How do I enable and use the Inbox?
