You can set up Buzz to notify you when certain actions and changes occur, like when a student submits an activity or has an enrollment change.

To manage notifications:

  1. Open the User Menu from the top-right corner of the toolbar and select Settings.
  1. Provide the Email you want to receive notifications at.
  2. Indicate which notifications you want to receive and how frequently you want to receive them.
    • Where Right away is available, you can choose to get a notification immediately each time a change is made. These options do not appear for notifications that are better suited for the Daily and/or Weekly digest email due to content and length of messages.
    • The Daily and/or Weekly options send a summarized digest at the selected interval(s).
  3. Save.
  1. Teacher notifications give you information about student activity.
  2. Base-course notifications give you notifications to help you manage any Base and Derivative courses you are managing.
  3. Inbox notifications let you know when you receive messages in your Buzz Inbox.
    • Note: This notification option appears only for domains with Inbox enabled.

Some notifications in Buzz are required and can't be turned off

  • Security notifications are always sent when your password is changed.
  • Safety notifications are always sent to teachers when:
    • A BusyBee Chat activity is blocked for a student in their course due to inappropriate content.
    • A student in their course disputes a blocked BusyBee Chat activity because it was blocked in error.
  • Accessibility compliance notifications are always sent to teachers when accommodations are changed for a student in their course. Accommodation change notifications:
    • Are included in a daily digest email, so even if changes are made for multiple students, teachers receive no more than one email per day about accommodation changes.
    • Include a link to the students dashboard, where teachers can view the accommodations.
    • Inform the teacher only that a change was made and do not include details about the accommodations.
