I have this setting checked in my user account as a Teacher. Am I to assume that if a student is enrolled at any time in one of my courses, that I will receive an email notification per my setting? This is NOT happening for me and I am wondering what I am doing wrong. Please advise. Thank you!
Currently, Buzz does not send out emails to teachers when a student enrollment is created in their course.
A teacher may however, receive notifications when a student enrollment's start date/time occurs or the student enrollment status changes to be active. If a teacher is not receiving an email for this specific condition, then I will need the teacher's user ID to explore what may be causing this reported behavior.
Hi, Trevor! Thank you for your prompt response. Here is my dilemma. We are using Buzz for on demand Educator Professional Development. When someone registers for one of our Buzz courses on our website, they are automatically sent instructions and the course code to self enroll. Because our courses are available to anyone visiting our website, our teachers do not know who their students will be. When a student self-enrolls the system automatically assigns them a start date equal to the course start date which is always way in the past. Is there an option for a student who self-enrolls to indicate their start date? Then, the current system logic would work. However, right now, notifications are not sent to my instructors when a student self-enrolls. The notifications only work when I know in advance of someone who wishes to enroll (very rare scenario) and I manually enroll them as an administrator. The default start date for manually enrolled students is the current date. Please help me find a way to make this work! It's very tedious for me to manually go into every course (22) and check for new enrollees and then separately email each of the various instructors/facilitators. Thank you!
Any status on adjusting the logic that sends a teacher notification regarding a student's enrollment? Is there a way to override the course start date with the current date when I student enrolls using the course code? This would trigger your existing logic for sending a teacher notification. Please engage with me on this so we can problem-solve a workable solution. Thank you!
Hello- Please continue the conversation on this topic. We are not the only organization that uses Buzz for adult professional learning. The current logic tied to student enrollment notifications to the teacher does not support our use of the product. We use Buzz as our WI statewide professional learning platform and we service thousands of adult learners. Please consider continuing this conversation so we can continue using Buzz as our preferred platform. Thank you.
We are currently exploring possible options to enhance the notification feature to support this use case. However, there is no estimated time of arrival on if or when that may occur.
Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions!
