Close Activity for Students?

Good Morning,

Our teachers are receiving a pop up when they grade assignments. It is showing up if the student makes a 0, a 100, or anything in between, but it doesn't show up on every assignment. Can you give more insight on what this pop up means for the teachers and students?

Hi! We are experiencing the same thing. I saw the announcement about this new pop-up message in the Suite Release yesterday, but I'm wondering if it's operating as intended.

Shouldn't this message only appear when the student is keeping the minimum score (in our case, a 0)?

We are also seeing this and would like to be able to deactivate, if possible?

Hello all,

Thank you for raising this. The "Close activity for student" dialog is a new feature from our October 8 release. It’s designed to help graders avoid accidentally closing an activity’s grace period for a student. In Thursday’s release, the dialog was also appearing after the grader had changed the automatic score, which is what you were all seeing with grades like 100. We released a fix for that today, October 9. You can find the details in the 10/9 release notes.

Going forward, the dialog should appear only when all of the following are true.

  • The student received the automatic Minimum activity score, and the grader hasn’t changed it.
  • The grader entered a message to the student.
  • The activity still allows the student to submit late (the grace period hasn’t ended).

Thanks again for your patience, and let me know if there are any questions.
