Student not being paced correctly

I have a student in a continuous class that is scheduled to end on Jan 21, 2022. However, the Target Due Date for the last assignment is Dec 2, 2021. Other students in the class are paced correctly through January. How can I get I get this student's class re-paced correctly?

Hi Doug!

We received a ticket regarding this issue. It was discovered the student created their own custom target enddate before their enrollment enddate which caused this behavior. I want to make a note of the resolution here too for your convenience.

So, Brian Williams, do students typically have the ability to create/update their target end date? I want to make sure I have that option disabled, if it's still "a thing".

Carmen Jimenez, yes that is correct. I am sorry to report there isn't a feature to disable that function. Because continuous courses are self paced, it is that designed flexible intent that students may finish the course sooner than their enrollment end date or use the default suggested due dates within the scope of their enrollment start and end date to complete the activities in the course.

In other words, the target due date setting that the student has access to allows the individual student to direct the system to suggest due dates earlier and allows those due dates to inform the student on the quicker suggested due date pace in their course.
