We like the grade details report. But we would like a way to quickly send those reports to students/families via email. Is there any type of progress report that can be mass emailed through Buzz for entire courses?
That’s a great question! At this time, Buzz doesn’t have a built-in feature to automatically email reports directly from the Admin app. The reports can be exported, and then shared out using your own email client.
If your domain has the Inbox feature enabled, teachers also have the option to send files to all students in their course through Buzz, which could be a helpful alternative.
That's too bad. I'm using the Teacher app (not Admin), but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.
We use the inbox feature. But for example, if a teacher has 200 students, their best bet is to download the zip file with all of the individual files and then still type in one name at a time and attach the progress report? There is still no way to mass send individual scores/progress report messages within the inbox?
I’m not sure if you’re describing a Buzz report. If the Grade Details report is coming from Power Tools, that’s a third-party tool we didn’t build, so I’m not familiar with how that report is exported or how you should compile it. It would be helpful to get confirmation from you on where exactly you’re running that report from.
What I can share is that the Inbox feature in Buzz does allow teachers to send one or more file attachments either to individual students or to all students in a course. To reach the entire class, the teacher would just select “Students” from the “To” menu under the course name. In other words, teachers can manually send messages and attachments to multiple recipients at once, but there isn’t an automated way to do this.
I understand your goal is to send individual grade reports to students and/or their parents automatically. Unfortunately, there isn’t an automated way to send individual grade reports at this time. I will mark this post as an enhancement request for our team to review and consider adding at a future time. We really appreciate your feedback, as we are always trying to improve Buzz for our users!
It would be great if Agilix would add some of these features offered through Accelerate, especially the ability to manually push out individual progress reports to entire classes of students.
