Updating Activities

When I update an activity in our online course, changes only show for students who haven’t started. Those who started still see the old version. I don’t want it to change for students who already submitted, but how can I ensure all students who haven’t completed it (even if started) see the updated version?

Good morning, Laura!

It is expected behavior that students will experience the version of the activity settings at the time they start working in the activity. In order for students who made an attempt on a previous version of the activity to use the latest changes to the activity, I recommend performing a new attempt to use the latest changes to the activity. This can be achieved by the available attempts or by granting a retry to the student.

In other words, as long as the students do not have additional attempts available or have been granted a retry, they will not see the latest changes to the activity.

If the desire is to only have some students see those changes, that will likely be difficult to manage. Instead, I recommend placing students in groups and editing the activities specific to the groups.

Please let me know if you have any more questions regarding this!
