Observers Access to Actvities

Currently observers in our domain can view lessons that a student has started or completed, but cannot access lessons the student has not started. Is this common for the observer account, or is there a setting that I need to look at? Observers can see all teacher made activities no matter if the student has started or completed them. The lessons are from a 3rd party curriculum provider.

Hi Christina:

An observer may view activities but not start assessments or make submissions. An observer may view the grade details of an activity. Do the lessons have any settings enabled to block the student access to other activities?

We don't have any flags on the lessons to keep students from moving forward. What I observed in an observer account was that the observer was not able to view a lessons that was not already opened by the student. The observer could access previous lessons, just not future lessons. This could be an issue with the curriculum we use as observers are able to view custom activities we have added.
