Matching mark correct/incorrect

I thought I asked this a while back, but a search didn't turn anything up. Sorry if this is a repeat.

I have an Assessment with 1 matching question where the students match 18 definitions with their correct terms. I have the question options set to always except Display Correct Choices: When answered correctly. I have it set to unlimited attempts so the students can keep practicing. The issue is that when they submit their work it just puts a check or x next to the whole question so they don't know which terms they got wrong. How can I get the checks and x's to show up next to each term?

The option to Display Correct Choices: When answered correctly will only allow the showing of which choice was correct if the question overall was answered correctly, not the specific choice. It seems as if setting Display Correct Choices to Always is the behavior that is desired as it will show which choice was chosen correctly and which choice was wrong when the overall question is marked as not correct.

Ok. To me that option sounds like it would tell them what the correct answer should have been for the ones they missed, not just put the check or x.

Thanks :)
