Buzz Release Notes
A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform version 3.0.447, available on April 3, 2025.
New grading policy options
With this release, Buzz introduces increased flexibility in defining grading rules and automated settings to better align with your school's grading policies and improve the teacher and student experiences.
Minimum activity score
Course authors can now set a Minimum activity score. This value is the minimum score that an activity in the course can be assigned. If a lower score is assigned to an activity, Buzz automatically changes that score to this minimum value.
Location: Course settings > Gradebook options

Automatically allow retries for below-passing activities
Automatically allow retries for below-passing activities is a new grading option that automatically gives all students in a course retries for any assignment that receives a score lower than the passing score set for the course or for an individual activity. When enabled, students are allowed the retries until the due date or grace period has passed.
Location: Course settings > Advanced options

Administrators can enable the Automatically allow retries for below-passing activities feature for an individual student's enrollments as an Accommodation or Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Location: Users > User Details > Accommodations

Automatic Retry icons behave the same as they do for manually granted retries.

Automatically mark past-due activities as missing
Currently, teachers can mark an activity as missing in the Grade editor for their own record-keeping and to notify students that the activity hasn't been submitted. With the new Automatically mark past-due activities as missing option enabled, activities that haven't been submitted by the due date are automatically marked as missing for teachers and students.
Location: Course settings > Advanced options

Automatic Missing icons behave the same as they do when marked manually.

New Assessment review option: When passing score achieved
Assessment review options define conditions that trigger when a student is able see select information about their graded assessments. When passing score achieved is a new Assessment review option that allows students to review information only after they have earned a passing score.
Location: Assessment activity editor > Assessment review
