I've found that you can actually do this with the answer type Regular Expression. I don't know how to code Regex though, I was looking it up on the web and saw that it is doable.

I can see your point Burt that if you want to change the students (people) you see it would be in the people tab.

I don't see anything obvious. When this happens to me the first thing I do is turn on the question option "show correct" so when it is counted wrong I can see what answer the server was looking for...
