I am working on an assessment (Course ID# 159412198 Activity 9cd7ae2512b24045bb14fe8c239f2712) and have a question. I am using variables to generate different numbers so that the students get unique questions. Because I am using variables and need to use the eval() function, I have to use one of the mathematical options for the question type. Some of the answers include more than one answer, i.e. intercepts at 0 and 3. I would like to have the students separate their answers by a comma and list them from least to greatest. Unfortunately, from my testing, a comma is not an acceptable character when using the math expression question type options. Here is a screenshot of what happens when I use a comma with the math expression - equivalent option:

It seems that the individual answers are acceptable but the question is marked incorrect. I tested my theory and changed the comma to a + because it is a character that is on the equation editor that can be accessed by students.

As you can see, the answers were accepted and the question was marked correct. There are no symbols that are currently appropriate for this type of separation. I would prefer to avoid multiple blanks as not all the questions have multiple intercepts and I do not want to tip the students off as to how many answers they should be seeking. I am wondering if there is a way to get the comma as acceptable character type or to get the question to mark as correct. I am attaching a screenshot below.
Thanks!
Matney
