An "opt out" or "hide" option for learners when they are looking at a Retry in their To Do list

Hello! Our teachers have shared similar feedback to the following -- is there any possibility of letting students have a little more control over their To Do list? Maybe an option to "hide" or "opt out" or "Skip" or "Snooze" button for Retries specifically? Nothing that would remove the icon and retry option, but something that would let them clean up their To Do list a bit.

Feedback from a teacher as an example when we talked about proactively allowing retries on low scoring assignments:"I've weirdly had students who do not want this auto set up when the student passed, but not by much. When you set a retry, the assignment goes back on their to do list, and if a student isn't interested in retrying that particular assignment (and like to clear their to do lists) they get agitated if it just sits out there. I wish there was a way they could pull it off the list if they don't want to use the redo."

On a related note, could something similar be created for teachers when they have Needs Grading items floating in their lists that need to remain ungraded until the learner submits a retry/fixes Google Doc share settings, etc?
