Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the option for students to check the "hide my email address from LTI" box in their settings? Our students do this thinking it is best for privacy and not realizing this will stop them from connecting to our LTI providers.
In order for Buzz to remain LTI compliant, we are required to give individual users the option to choose whether or not to share their email address with LTI tools. Because of this, there is not a way to disable or remove the "Hide my email address from LTI" setting.
With that being said, some LTI providers may be able to work around this setting depending on how they are configured, so it may be worth checking with your provider to see if they offer a workaround or alternative method for identifying users.
