I really like having the ability to push a message through the Inbox from the grading page. However, I do not like having every grading comment I enter being pushed through automatically. Over this past semester I have had several students who have felt obligated to respond to each of those messages. I know they are just wanting to be polite and not ignore contact from me. However, it is not a good use of their time (or mine) for them to respond to a template message that says, for example, "Quizzes are auto-graded in this course, but I am happy to help if you have questions."
I would really like to be able to choose either (1) to click "Submit" and just have the grade and feedback submitted or (2) to use the dropdown arrow to select something like "Submit and Send."
