Clearing Due Dates

When we make a copy of a course that teachers used this year it comes over with all the due dates. It would be nice if the copy came without due dates or if there was a way to somehow clear all due dates at one time, because as it stands, when a teacher starts a new year with a copy of their course from last year they have to individually change each due date, or remove for now then change later, but either way it takes a LOT of time to go into each item individually in a full year course to prepare it for the next year.

Teachers are doing this right now with courses from last year preparing for the new year and it is taking them a couple days to go into each individual assignment and that seems like a waste of their time.

Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback RCSD. We just released an update that I think will alleviate a lot of the effort it takes to clear those due dates. The teacher can remove them, in Bulk, through the Activity List. They can then go into the scheduler and drag-and-drop onto the due dates they want for the new semester with a fresh start.

Please check this week's release notes for more information on this feature.

There are multiple activity types that can contain due dates, requiring the user to go through this step multiple times to be sure all due dates are removed.

Can there be a way to remove all due dates at the time the course copy is created? The option is there to "Adjust Due, visibility and grade release dates based on course start date" on the "set schedule" section when creating a course copy (see screenshot). Perhaps an additional check box called "clear due dates" could be added here as well?

Also - If there could be the option to clear due dates when using the course "Import" via CSV is used it would save a ton of time.

The "Derivative Sibling" copy option (derivative child too) is a very powerful tool... but not having the ability to clear due dates sort of reduces its potential to be as efficient as it can be.
