In the setting on an assignment, if you build a rubric, in the gradebook before grading it shows everything out of 100 points. This is because the Points if toggled is blank. If you have something set to points, say 80, and you decide to update the assignment and change it to 60 points, in the gradebook it will show the rubric total as 60 but the points on the right upper corner as 80. It is really weird that the total that is pulled into that upperright corner only gets populated from the POINTs option in the settings and not which ever option is chosen. Below is an example. I have an assignment example (from MANY) that was set to 29 points. Later a rubric was added and then the points in the rubric were set to 20. HOWEVER, the " /29" still appears in the upper right hand corner while the rubric total is on the bottom. You end up having to go into the editor settings, toggle to Points, change to 20, then toggle back to rubric and then save. In addition, for all assingments built with Rubrics, it will just default to " /100" everytime (since points is never populated) and this is VERY confusing for teachers. Can we get this fixed on the Agilix side please? Thank you!!
Hello Steven, when the point value is set to "blank" it will then default to " /100" We have over 300 courses and many assignments updated with the new Rubric to be built. There are possibly 1000s of assignments I would need to update manually. Agilix cannot fix this bug so the score reflects the proper Score Entry total? Thanks
Yes, I have forward that information already to the course dev team, I am just concerned about all the current live courses. I will just need to come up with a game plan to tackle everything manually I guess? If you would consider though presenting a "bug fix" to your dev team, I am certain I am not the only client having this issue, or even teachers that are adding rubrics to their own classrooms, etc. I find it silly to reference a field for an option you are not choosing. A simple "If Then" statement would resolve this. "If Score Entry = Points then Score = Grading Scale (Points) If Score Entry = Rubric, then Score = Rubric Total points, else Score = Weight" etc. (pseudocode wise) I know the Rubric Total is a field you can call because it is in the gradebook and it eventually uses that total once graded. Is there a way something like this can be submitted to development to be looked at and someone reach out to me with some type of decision? Thanks!
I understand this behavior can be very frustrating, I'd feel the same way. Unfortunately, this behavior may occur if the activity had been using points before and then was changed to a rubric later via the activity settings.
Luckily, there's a solution! In order to fix this behavior, you'll need to switch the "Score entry" option to points, remove the value in the "Grading scale" field, switch the "Score entry" back to rubric, and then save the changes.
The " /100" is coming from the weight in category. The weight can be set to any value you'd like.
If you intend on transitioning from using points to a rubric in the future, you will need to remove any associated score value in the grading scale field as part of the process. The reported behavior doesn't occur when creating a new activity/rubric in Buzz.
Yes, of course! For us to investigate this further, could you provide me with a course ID and an activity ID that is currently exhibiting the behavior noted in your initial comment? It doesn't have to be the same activity from your screenshot, just any example with the ID's would be great. Thank you!
This one you will see the rubric is 10 points and with points set to 100, that is what will populate for the score. I did speak to one of our client managers today and apparently teachers have been complaining about this since the rubrics have been an option. I have only been here a year though, so my apoligies I am just now bringing it back as an issue.
I can also create a course and activity in our Sandbox if someone wanted to play with that or look at it. Thank you again!
Thank you for your patience as we continued to investigate this behavior.
I am happy to inform you that we have made a change that will be included in our next release on 12/16/2021 which will prevent future scenarios of the reported behavior from occurring. However, the change doesn't modify activities that are currently in this state. Activities currently in this state will need to be modified. We have also added functionality to bulk update the Grading scale (points) field in the editor's Bulk edit screen to help modify large number of activities that may be in this scenario. That too will be included in our next release. These changes apply to only traditional-scoring courses (not MOS or SBG).
After our next release, when you edit a rubric for an activity, the Grading Scale (points) field will update to reflect the rubric's max-points number. Does that make sense?

This is the example I am speaking of. Thanks!
Even though it is set to Rubric, it still pulls the value in the Points that is not even chosen. How do we get it to not do this? Thanks!

@... Is there a manager I can speak to about this on the phone? This is really a huge issue on our side. Thank you!
