Student choosing to NOT to a choice activity

I was wondering if there is a way to deal with a student who refuses to do a required choice activity. This activity has 9 choices but they skipped the assignment all together. I tried adding an additional choice - No Choice - but do not know how to assign this to them if they refuse to do the activity. I want to be able to give them a zero grade. HELP!!

Hello Ms. Dean:

Are you able to grade them through the For Me page in the teacher's gradebook? See How do I review and grade student choice activities?

If they are refusing to even take them, then you may need to set the other activities further down in the course syllabus to block access till a student has completed the choice activity. They can then receive zeros for the other activities for failing to complete them as a result of not completing the choice activity.
