Test Analytics

When running test analytics mine shows A, A-, B+, B, etc. This means the graphs are so small I cannot see the data and there are so many numbers it is difficult to keep track. While my grading scale needs to stay with all these, I would like my test analytics to show A, B, C, D, F. I thought I could set it that way before, but I cannot find a way to do it now. (My old numbers for comparison are only A, B, C, D, F.) How would I change that setting? Thanks!

Hello Amy:

You should be able to view different grade formats within the analytics page by changing the course's grade scale to a different grade format. Please note that this is the scale that is used for the gradebook.

How do I do that without changing the actual scale for students though? If I change it in the tools it will change the actual scale correct?

The analytics grades is using the course grade scale setting to display that data on the page. If you change the grade scale, it will reflect the change within the analytics page and the grades page.

I am not understanding. Could you send a screenshot of where I would do this?

I am including our document How do I create and manage grade scales? that will go over how to perform changing the course grade scale.

That is where I thought, but won't that change my actual grade scale so if a student finishes not it is only based on A, B, C, etc. instead of A, A-, etc.? As we are completely online, I can have students finishing at anytime so I cannot just change it while I run the test. Is there any way to keep the grade scale with all the choices but have the test analytics group it so I can read the graphs?
