The Activity tab in the Performance tool, displays in chronological order of time spent on activities. It is not a sum of time spent on an activity but rather the time spent on the labeled activity at the labeled timestamp. If you add up all of the individual time spent for the activity, it should equal with what the total time is displayed. There was also some comments made by you in that Performance tool article that may also be helpful.
Thank you, Brian. We have a mom with twin girls working on the same courses at the same time on two different computers. Mom sent me a screenshot from both computers for one course and one student showed a total time of 1 hour and 10 minutes and the other student had a total time of 5 minutes and 16 seconds. She was concerned this was a measurement that might impact her student's grade and I assured otherwise. She asked me how the time was calculated and I could not find the answer in Help Center.
