From what I understand, Blackout Dates simply exclude those dates from having an assignment due, but may not affect the end date of an enrollment.
Example: if I have 10 calendar days to complete a course and there are 10 activities/assignments for the course. If those 10 calendar days are considered "school days" (even though real calendar weeks include Sat/Sun, let's not consider this for now), I might have one assignment due on each of those 10 calendar days: 10 assignments : 10 days = 1 assignment per day.
I may be answering my question(s) based on what I see when I enroll a student in a continuous 30-day course, considering the "automatic end date" (example: enrolling 10/3 gives an end date of 11/1, regardless of weekends).
Here are the questions:
Do blackout dates affect the enrollment end date of a "continuous" course, automatically shifting the end date forward to give the student the full number of valid working days?
Example, if I have a continuous 30-day enrollment that starts on October 1st, but I have 5 additional blackout dates in October (due to in-services, etc), will the system automatically push the course end date to 11/8?
From what I can tell, if I have 5 blackout days in an initial 10-day continuous enrollment period, logically, the system may change the assignments due per date to 2:1 (likely depending on the activity?).
Blackout dates do not alter enrollment or course end dates. They instead simply prevent activity due dates from occurring on the added blackout dates within a continuous course.
Please let me know if you have other questions about this!
