Dawn Release Notes (v2020.0715.231515) - Simplified authoring tools!

A round-up of all improvements and changes to Dawn in version v2020.0715.231515 available on July 16, 2020.

Simplified authoring tools!

As part of our continuing efforts to simplify the Dawn experience for you, we have simplified the authoring experience.

Authors now use the Administrator view

The Author view has been combined with the Administrator view. All users with authoring permissions will now choose the Administrator view and select the Courses screen to create/edit courses and review learner reports.

Introducing a new course building wizard to help you create basic Dawn courses!

We've made getting started with Dawn even easier with our new Dawn Basic Template wizard!

To use it:

  1. Sign into the Administrator view, open the Courses screen, and click the Create course [plus sign] button in the upper right corner.
  2. Select Dawn Basic Template in the Template field and click Create.
  1. Upload files using the Quick add window. Each file you upload is made into an instruction under Section 1 in the course's table of contents.
  2. Click Add to course when you're done.

When you upload files with the Dawn Basic Template wizard:

  1. You can now add to and edit the course. Notice that the Quick add button appears in each section detail screen; this button opens the wizard back up.
