  • Updated:

With the release of Buzz's new Activity player, we are updating some icons to better reflect the activities they represent, and to avoid overlap with App-level buttons (for example, the previous Assessment activity icon closely resembled our Help button).

The new activity icons, pictured below next to the old icons they are replacing, will be active this Thursday (7/25). You can also download the attached PDF to review.

Can you clarify--- will these icons be updated regardless of if the new activity player is turned off by the domain admin?

Yes, the new icons will be displayed everywhere, regardless if you are using the new Activity Player or not.

Hello! We have a couple questions for you:

If a user has uploaded a custom icon image for existing activities in their courses, will it be replaced by the new icons when tomorrow's update comes out or will their icons remain? For example, this rich text activity, will the icon image stay?

When an attachment is added to an activity, the paperclip icon appears for users to click and access the attachment. Will this stay as a paper clip icon or will the icon change to the attachment activity's icon? This is the paperclip icon I am referring to:

These new icons will not replace any thumbnails you have uploaded for an activity or a folder. It will just replace the default icons.

We still display a paperclip in the new Activity Player, but is styled a little different.

The icon changes for tomorrow are primarily the activity icons. For example, Assessment, Assignment, etc.

Great! Thank you, Brad!
