This Thursday (2/28/2019), we are upgrading our icon library with Font Awesome Pro! You will see:

  • A larger icon library.
  • A new look to existing icons from Font Awesome.
  • Additional styling choices when adding fonts.

In some instances, the reference names used for custom icons are not compatible with the new library, but don't worry. The Agilix Support Team is on it! We will automatically update the references with the rollout, so you won't notice a thing.

We will provide more details on Thursday. Let us know if you have any questions!

Excuse our ignorance, but what is the icon library?  Where are they used in Buzz?  Thank you for your time.

Nice.  We were unaware of this. How do you edit them - where do you go?  We just opened an activity and we only see the option to upload an image, not change the icon...?  Thanks.

Hey RCSD,

I misspoke on my previous comment (edited now). The library applies to a few icons on the new rich text editor, some on the main menu, and any custom menu entry created by admins. .

So is there a way for us to use Font Awesome icons within the content of pages we build using the methods described on their website? I tried editing the HTML on a page and adding this code:

<i class="fas fa-igloo"></i>

But when I exited the code view and went back into it, that code had been removed. Same thing happened when I tried using <span> instead of <i>.

If using inline elements to insert icons won't work, can we reference the icons as pseudo-elements in our custom CSS as described here? Example:

.login::before {
  font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Pro";
  font-weight: 900;
  content: "\f007";
}

Hey @Shaun, it is currently not possible to use the Font Awesome icons within your content authored in Buzz. However, I have flagged it as an enhancement.

That's a bummer ... but that would be a great enhancement. I've been importing the Font Awesome Free CSS file into our Buzz content templates, which has been helpful ... but having access to the Pro set of icons would be even better. Thanks, @Brad!
