The new Buzz UI introduces new assessment tools for students!

New assessment tools allow students to highlight text, eliminate answers, and record notes while taking assessments!

Fixed issues

In this release, we:

  • Fixed an issue in the Domain Settings screen where you could not edit a subdomain's settings if a parent domain had already defined some of these settings: communitypages-list, coursemetadata-list, customtype-list, domainmetadata-list, questionmetadata-list, toolbarbutton-list, usermetadata-list.
  • Fixed an issue where entries from the clipboardtab-list and redirect-list were not merging correctly between the child domain and ancestor domain when running Buzz.

New Buzz UI

During the summer of 2017, we released a new Buzz UI, giving you the same features and functionality with a cleaner, simpler user experience!

The release notes in this section pertain only to those using the new Buzz UI.

New Buzz UI fixed issues

In this release, we:

  • Fixed an issue in the Domain Settings screen where you could not edit a subdomain's settings if a parent domain had already defined some of these settings: communitypages-list, coursemetadata-list, customtype-list, domainmetadata-list, questionmetadata-list, toolbarbutton-list, usermetadata-list.
  • Fixed an issue where entries from the clipboardtab-list and redirect-list were not merging correctly between the child domain and ancestor domain when running Buzz.
  • Updated highlighting functionality in essay questions, so students can't highlight their own text. In order for the highlighting tool to work with essay questions, you need to put the essay question on its own page.
  • Updated highlighting functionality in passage questions. In order for the highlighting tool to work with passage questions where multiple questions are attached to one passage, the questions must all be displayed on the same page.
  • Updated the Enter printed assessment answers screen, so it no longer displays eliminated answer graphics.
  • Fixed an issue with overlapping text at times in assessments.
  • Added whitespace that was missing between words in the Activity Editor.
  • Fixed an issue that would display the period field as editable in Clipboard activity editors for when they should be "read only."
  • Added the current course ID to the About dialog if you open the dialog while you are viewing a course page.
  • Fixed an issue where users were unable to score an excused activity when score entry type was set to "letter grade."
  • Updated the Activity Grader to clear previous activity scores in Multi-Outcome Scoring courses when that activity is excused.
  • Fixed table style issues in the Grade Details screen.
  • Fixed formatting of the "self assigned" and "teacher assigned" indicators in the For Me screen.
  • Fixed an issue with spacing between words on the Student Grades > Pending Scores screen.
  • Fixed an issue in the Grade Editor when a teacher would launch a student's LTI activity, Buzz would send the student's user information to the external LTI website instead of the teacher's user information.
