A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform in versions v2.0.141 and v3.0.39, available on February 15, 2018.

Fixed issues

In this release, we fixed an issue where attempting to delete existing scores using the Teacher app > Performance > Quick-Edit mode was not allowed.

New Buzz UI

During the summer of 2017, we released a new Buzz UI, giving you the same features and functionality with a cleaner, simpler user experience!

The release notes in this section pertain only to those using the new Buzz UI.

New Buzz UI updates

In this release, we:

  • Updated the Activity Grader/Grade Editor, so that when tabbing through fields, existing content is automatically selected.
  • Standardized the way Clear works for zeros assigned automatically by the Automatically assign zero scores to past-due activities function (set up in Teacher app > Course settings > Advanced options), so the score is always reset. This includes the Batch update scores dialog, Gradebook course grid, Activity Grader, Grade Editor, etc.  
  • Added a new feature to the Gradebook > Activity Grader > Batch update scores screen. A Clear tab now appears whenever a zero has been assigned by the Automatically assign zero scores to past-due activities function (set up in Teacher app > Course settings > Advanced options); this tab allows users to clear All auto-zeroed scores for an activity.  

If you try to Clear the scores while the Due date is still set in the past, a warning appears to let you know that if you don't clear or change the date, a zero will be automatically assigned again.

New Buzz UI fixed issues

In this release, we:

  • Fixed an issue where attempting to delete existing scores using the Teacher app > Gradebook > Quick-Edit mode was not allowed.
  • Fixed an issue where externally defined Domain permissions were not displaying in the New Role/Edit Role dialog boxes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Activity Editor was attempting to save read only content on linked activities.
  • [CHROME 64] Updated the way audio/video recordings are handled in course content to accommodate changes made in Chrome.
  • Fixed an issue where Metadata rich text fields would not be re-synced to the Master course using the Changes screen.
  • Fixed an issue where edits made to Website URL content in Website Link activities weren't being listed in the Changes screen.  
  • Fixed an issue where the Are you sure you want to leave prompt would appear unnecessarily when attempting to Submit or Save Draft in the Grade Editor for an assessment when no edits had been made.
  • Fixed an issue where items created in a Derivative course would appear in the Changes screen mistakenly; only items created in the Master course and then edited in a Derivative are tracked on this screen.

  • PutTeacherResponse: Sending a pointsassigned of NaN or null for an activity that has the grade status of PostDueDateZero, will clear our the PostDueDateZero and Completed status.
  • PutTeacherResponses: Sending a pointsassigned of NaN for an activity that has the grade status of PostDueDateZero, will clear our the PostDueDateZero and Completed status.
  • GetGradeHistory: Fixed an issue where entries were being sorted by last activity date instead of the modified date.
  • ListCourses: Improved backend performance of this API to skip any deleted enrollments owned by the requester when evaluating the courses to be returned.
  • GetMasterySummary: Fixed an issue where the objective GUIDs may not have returned properly for mapped objective sets.
