A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform in version 2.0.60, available on July 28, 2016.

Updates

  • Made many updates to the Teacher app to improve accessibility for users with a visual impairment. While many of the updates were under-the-hood, users may notice improved keyboard navigation throughout multiple tools and slight style changes to selected and focussed buttons and menu options.
  • Moved table icon to more appropriate place in the rich text editor, so it doesn't get cut off.
  • Updated rich text editors for landing content and agenda creation to include full tool ribbon.
  • Added IDs to objectives in the Digital Library search results and now allow for text wrapping for longer descriptions.
  • Updated searches to return only resources aligned with objectives when objectives are part of search parameters.

Editor (beta) updates

As part of our continual efforts to improve the new Editor tool, we:

  • Revised the process to add objectives to courses or outcomes to Mult-outcome Scoring courses. When users add outcomes and objectives they can now save them by clicking only Save. Previously, users had to click a checkmark and then.
  • Revised editors so when choosing a course resource for either the main content or as an embedded piece of the activity, you can add parameters and fragments to the URL.
  • Revised objectives lists to create a page break once the lists reaches 100.

Fixed issues

  • Fixed an issue where components of passage questions would appear twice when altering the display modes using the Single and Side passage checkboxes.
  • Fixed an issue where activities with the Popup in a new window box checked would appear twice for users, once in the popup and once in the main window frame.
  • Revised Wiki to display plain text when HTML sanitization doesn't work.
  • Fixed an issue where hidden items could cause the Activities tool to hang at times when using the simplified view.
  • If you deleted a category at some point it wouldn't render.
  • Fixed a mispelling of configuration in an Equella integration error dialogue.
  • Revised SSO configuration so when a third party SSO fails to return the correct landing page information, Buzz provides the information.
  • Fixed an issue where the activity Analytics tab was displaying incorrectly rounded scores.
  • Fixed an issue where content that was cut and pasted failed to appear in the rich text editor frame.
  • Fixed an issue where class properties from custom elements Buzz uses were being displayed

Editor (beta) fixes

As part of our continual efforts to improve the new Editor tool, we:

  • Resolved a JavaScript error associated with selecting badges and objectives from the Syllabus. No end user impact.
  • Aligned the resource folder icon with the resources search field.
  • Updated resources to accept files with number signs in the filename.
  • [Firefox] Updated Editor so objective and badge indicators are removed when the users closes them.
  • Fixed an issue where, when assigned to items, newly-created badges and objectives would not appear on the item until the screen was refreshed.
  • Fixed an issue where teachers without editing rights were able to access editing tools and receive errors when they tried to make and save edits.
  • Fixed an issue where content authors were not allowed to edit activities they created in a derivative course with Prevent content edits in derivative courses enabled.
  • Revised the table creator in the rich text editor, so that the boundary outline overlay no longer keeps users from selecting and interacting with content in the table.
  • Fixed an issue where question previews were not available for questions linked from other courses.
