Custom menu entries

Updated Menu Entries customization to allow linked menu items to use parameter queries to recognize and display "deep linked" items within that external link. So, when users click the menu item from the Main Menu, they open the link's landing page, but when provided a URL with the parameter specified, Buzz opens the link at the specified location.

To configure this in Buzz, add {{QUERY-[INSERT DESIRED ID LABEL]}} to the URL you provide when setting up the custom menu entry. For example, if you use https://example-custom-chat-application.com/{{QUERY-messageid}} as your menu entry URL, Buzz will:

  • Load https://example-custom-chat-application.com/ when a user selects that entry from the Main Menu.
  • Load https://example-custom-chat-application.com/123456789 when a user is provided with this URL: https://example-custom-chat-application.com?messageid=123456789.

Full-screen Activities

Updated the Activities tool to hide the activity toolbar in full screen mode. Users can use the arrows next to the full screen button to move to the next and previous activities.

Many updates were made to the Student and other apps to improve accessibility for users with a visual impairment. While many of the updates were under-the-hood, users may notice improved keyboard navigation throughout multiple tools and slight style changes.

Fixed Issues

  • Fixed an issue where activities with embedded videos would not display a video thumbnail in the Activities tool.

  • Fixed an issue where the Performance tool did not allow scrolling across the Gradebook tab if there were either no students or activities displayed
