During the summer of 2017, we released a new Buzz UI, giving you the same features and functionality with a cleaner, simpler user experience!

The features covered in this article are only included in the new Buzz UI. If you don't know which version you are using, review the differences and/or contact your system admin or Agilix account manager.

We've overhauled Buzz's Calendar tool to give you a smoother, more intuitive experience!

With this update, you will be able to:

  • Hide and show deadlines from multiple courses at once.
  • Show a list view of all deadlines on or after a selected date.
  • Easily review events across weeks and months using next and back buttons in the toolbar.

Watch for improvements next week!

In order to be more efficient and successful in my course, I really could use the capability of setting my own course completion dates and changing them with ease, to know when I really need to have my assignments done by for my own circumstances.

Hey Danica, if you are in a continuous enrollment course, you can change the target end date (Grades > Settings > Target End Date) so that all of your due dates will be readjusted to better help you achieve your target for ending the course sooner.

Has there been any thought on allowing a break or vacation functionality within the calendar. For example if a student is going on vacation, they would be able to enter in their away vacation time and their courses would be updated appropriately against that vacation time

There is not currently an option for students to enter blackout dates for their own enrollment. However instructors can set blackout dates for the entire course, and admins can set blackout dates for the entire domain. We'll include this suggestion in discussions for possible future enhancement to Buzz.

HI!  I'm a teacher.  How do I add assignments to my calendar? Do I have to edit each part of the lesson inside the folder, or can I assign the entire folder?

I would really love to see the functionality to add blackout dates as a student. While I love the ability to set my own end date, if I have a big break sometime during the course (e.g. Christmas break), I find that once the break passes and I get back to work on my class, the calendar is useless because I am so far "behind". Without the addition of blackout dates, the calendar function has no long-term use, at least for me.

On the same note, once I do come back from my break, there is no option to readjust the assignments that have already past for a future date. Even if I set the projected end date to a later day, I still have assignments due in the past. I might be sounding like a broken record, but it really renders the calendar function useless.

While my above statements might sound harsh, I will say that I love pretty much everything else about Buzz. It's very easy to use and it has critical tools for analyzing my grades (thank goodness for the "What If" tool!). Keep up the good work!
