A round-up of all improvements and changes to the Buzz platform in versions 2.0.132 and 3.0.30, available on December 7, 2017.

Fixes

In this release, we:

  • [Firefox] Fixed an issue where Buzz would hang sometimes when loading custom questions using Firefox.
  • Fixed an issue that mistakenly gave users an error messaging when creating a course copy using a template with the Adjust due, visibility and grade release dates based on course start date box checked (even though the copy was made).
  • Fixed an issue that would make links to activities inactive in the Syllabus Editor after performing a bulk update.
  • Updated the Reported column in the Performance/Gradebook screen to show a Grading Period score when available.
  • Fixed an issue that would change font sizes when pasting links into the old rich text editor.

New Buzz UI

During the summer of 2017, we released a new Buzz UI, giving you the same features and functionality with a cleaner, simpler user experience!

The release notes in this section pertain only to those using the new Buzz UI.

New Buzz UI updates

In this release, we updated the rich text editor to allow for CSS list styles.

New Buzz UI fixed issues

In this release, we:

  • [Firefox] Fixed an issue where Buzz would hang sometimes when loading custom questions using Firefox.
  • Fixed an issue that mistakenly gave users an error messaging when creating a course copy using a template with the Adjust due, visibility and grade release dates based on course start date box checked (even though the copy was made).
  • Fixed an issue that would make links to activities inactive in the Syllabus Editor after performing a bulk update.
  • Updated the Reported column in the Performance/Gradebook screen to show a Grading Period score when available.
  • Fixed an issue that would change font sizes when pasting links into the old rich text editor.
  • Fixed an issue that would display the Filter by Groups button in the Activities toolbar in courses without groups.
  • Fixed Clipboard Tasks so they exist independent of Grading Periods in a course.
  • Fixed an issue where activities added using the Project Wizard would be assigned to the first Grading Period regardless of the period that was selected.
  • Fixed an issue where the "next activity" button in Activities wouldn't work consistently between activities assigned to different Grading Periods.
  • Fixed an issue that was allowing teachers to drag and drop student choice folders; they can't be moved.
  • Updated the Find activity dialog UI. Updated Find function in the Editor to navigate users to the desired activity and select the period in which the activity belongs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused choice activities to be be hidden from the Syllabus when added to a folder assigned to a specific Grading Period.
  • Fixed an issue where the School Year field would appear in a course's Settings in a domain without Grading Periods set up. The field now reads Term as it did before.
  • Fixed an issue where activities opened from the Editor > Group Settings screen would display as blank at times.
  • Fixed an issue where opening an activity from the Editor > Group Settings screen would display the following page rather than the activity that was selected.
  • Fixed an issue where content linked or copied from another course using the Digital Library would sometimes be put in the wrong Grading Period.
  • Updated the Editor > Group Settings tab to automatically limit content by the selected Grading Period.
  • Fixed an issue where, after deselecting a School Year in a course's Settings and exiting, the previously selected School Year still displayed when reopening the Settings.
  • [Firefox] Fixed an issue that would cause the Activity Editor > Metadata card to appear expanded and blank.
  • Fixed an issue where the move up and down buttons in the Editor > Syllabus wouldn't work consistently when moving between activities assigned to different Grading Periods.
  • Fixed an issue where dragging an activity into the Editor > Syllabus would sometimes put the activity in the wrong Grading Period.
  • Fixed an issue where linked or copied content from My Library or Resources would end up in the wrong Grading Period.
  • Fixed an issue where content linked or copied from the Digital Library would sometimes be put in the wrong Grading Period.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking on an activity in the Group Settings tab of the course Editor tool would sometimes cause the list of activities to either disappear or show another page in the paged-list of activities instead of selecting the activity.
  • Fixed an issue where some fields would extend off the edge of the Course Settings card.
  • Fixed an issue where a School Year would be displayed for a course that had nothing selected in the School Year field in Course Settings.
  • Removed filter bars that appeared unnecessarily on screens with no filter options.
  • Added School Year and Grading Period to title header of the printed page.
  • Fixed an issue where Buzz would hang when a teacher navigated to the Performance/Gradebook > Unit Summary screen for a course with no student enrollments.
  • Fixed an issue where the Period filter in the Gradebook > Grades screen would appear blank when All was selected.
  • Fixed an issue where Buzz would hang sometimes when trying to find an activity with the QuickNav.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a mistaken error message to appear in the Reports > Mastery screen when running reports for courses without defined objectives.

  • PutScoData and GetEntityWork: Fixed a possible race condition where a student submission could appear to need to be graded.
  • GetStatus: Improved the request to better handle exceptions and errors.
  • API Console: Fixed errors that would prevent the console from working in Internet Explorer and from executing Proxy and Unproxy requests.
  • Various security improvements.
