Integrating with Canva allows course authors to add new or existing Canva content as activities in Buzz.
Configuring LTI 1.3 integrations requires sharing details between Canva and Buzz, so it's best to have both systems open while doing it.
Configure Canva LTI 1.3 integration
- Follow Steps 1-4 of the Connect Canva to LMS article, selecting LTI 1.3 in Step 4.
- Open the Buzz admin app in another window and open Domain settings.
- In LTI 1.3 tools, click Add.
- Add a Title and Description. These appear in the Add activity screen to help find and add the activities to a course.
- In the Hostname field, enter canva.com. This field must be exact with no extra spaces.
- In User data sent at launch, you can select to send any of the following information where available: Given name, Family name, Display name, Email
- In LTI services, select the services you want supported. For this integration, include Deep linking with your selections.
- Copy the following values from Canva to Buzz:
- Login Initiation URL is pasted into Login Initiation URL and Deep-linking redirect URLs
- Public Key URL is pasted into Public Key URL
- OAuth Redirect URL is pasted into Tool redirect URLs
- Copy the following values from Buzz to Canva:
- Client ID is pasted into Client ID
- Issuer is pasted into Issuer
- Platform key set URL is pasted into Public key URL
- OpenID connect auth URL is pasted Authentication endpoint URL
- OAuth2 access token is pasted into Access token URL
- Save changes in Canva.
- In Buzz, check the Domain-wide box to apply the integration to subdomains.
- Check the Enabled box to make the integration live.
- Click Done and save your Domain settings.
Add Canva activities in Buzz
Once Canva is configured, course authors can add Canva activities to courses:
- Sign into Buzz as a teacher and open the Editor > Syllabus.
- Click Add activity.
- Find the Canva integration created above and click Add.
- Your Canva library opens in Buzz and you can select an existing project by clicking it or click Create a design to start a new project.
- When you're done, use Share to LMS to publish the project to Buzz. You can choose to embed the content in Buzz or add a link to it.
The activity is added to your syllabus. Click Edit to change the title as it appears in Buzz and add other settings like due dates, etc.
To make changes to the Canva project, edit it in Canva and the changes are automatically reflected in Buzz.
