The Inbox appears only if it has been enabled in your domain.
If Inbox is enabled for your domain, you can message your teacher from the Grade details screen.
Because this screen shows your score, submission details, and any feedback your teacher left for a specific activity, when you send a message from here, your teacher can easily tell which assignment or submission you're asking about.
This means you can easily ask about feedback, reply to your teacher's questions, talk about your score, or find out what to do next. It keeps the conversation connected to the work you submitted, so you don't have to explain everything from the beginning.
Send messages from Grade details
To send a message about and activity in the Grade details screen:
- Click Message my teachers under Messages.
- Enter your message.
- Click Send.
Feedback Messages are subject to data limitations.
The message is displayed in the Messages panel and is delivered to your teacher. You can adjust the size of the Messages panel by clicking and dragging the line next to it.
Once you've sent a message about an activity submission from here, it also appears in your Inbox.
When your teacher responds to messages sent from Grade Details
When your teacher responds to a message sent from Grade details, a badge notification appears for your Inbox to let you know you've received a new message.
An entry also appears in your Activity stream.
Set up Inbox Notifications to receive an external email about new messages.
You can open the Inbox to read the message and continue the conversation from there, or click View grade details to continue it in context of the activity.
